Rainy Day Entertainment!

It has rained today....a lot!!  We have really needed it, but the kids have been spoiled with playing outside and have been driving us nuts.  We have colored a lot, cooked, watched a little tv, and drew on the chalkboard.  Then I remembered the felt!!  I picked up a tub of felt pieces already cut out at our church's rummage sale about a month ago and we hadn't played with them yet.  It cost me 50 cents and entertained my kids for a good bit while we were stuck in the house.  I think I got my money's worth:)

Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend and I took barely any pictures!!  I hate when I forget my camera and aren't able to capture some of the kids fun moments!  Oh well.  Summer has officially begun for us now that Daddy is out of school for the summer and we have hit the ground running!!  Friday the kids spent the night with Mimi and Boo Boo and everyone had a great night:)  We were able to take dinner to some friends, stop by a graduation party, and have a date at Outback for dinner!!  It was nice and much needed!

Saturday we headed to London and Cade's birthday party which was done Calliou style in their barn.  London is now 3 and Cade 2, hard to believe for sure!!  The kids all had a great time and that is what most of the pictures above are from!!  We love the Arwood's and are hoping to be able to spend more time with them this summer.  We came home from the party and hit the pool!

Sunday after church we went to Ethan's birthday party at Pump it Up...Glow in the Dark style.  It was the first time we had been to one like that, and the kids ran crazy the entire time.  We left the party and headed to our Church's picnic, where I really wished I had brought my camera.  The kids changed in their swim suits and there was a huge slipping slide.  There were kids sliding up and down that thing as fast as they could get back in line.  Needless to say....the kids slept great that nightL)

Monday we had Megs and Bubba over for pizza and an all day swim.  Maddie just can't get enough of the water and Turner is warming up to it as well.  It was a very fun and busy weekend.  Lastly I had to share Maddie and her Daddy riding their bikes together.  We just bought Kevin a bike about a month ago and this has been the first week he has used it.  They have been riding together every day except for yesterday, when I decided to give it a try.  I now want a bike!  We ride to Oak, which is where Maddie will go to kindergarten next year and then head back home.  It takes about 45 minutes total....the school is only a few streets away.  Poor Maddie's legs get tired and we take a lot of "breaks" which consist of her getting off her bike and sitting in the grass:)  It is a great activity to do with her and I can't wait for Turner to be able to ride a bike as well.  What a fun family activity!!!

Great weekend!!!

Maddie's LAST Preschool Program!

Maddie finished up preschool last Wednesday.  She only had to go for her program and then I brought her home.  I wasn't sad until I picked her up and saw the empty classroom.  She has had a great year, great teachers, and made lots of great little friends.  It is hard to believe she will be in Kindergarten next year.  But she is ready and I am looking forward to making new memories at Oak Elementary as well.  Turner will start going to preschool next year at BBPS, so I know we will be back:)

Maddie did great at her program, even though she was on the last row, behind the tallest kid in the class.  I don't think we have ever been able to really see her in a single program she has had there.  Oh well, we already know how cute she is anyway:)  Olivia was with us and she and Turner acted great.  Mimi and Boo Boo joined as well, poor Daddy had to miss it again due to exams at his school.  We went to Baskin Robbins after her program for a treat and then headed home.  Summer has begun!!!

The Cutest Trees!!

Maddie was in a choir program Sunday and did a great job!!  Most of the time she just stands there and doesn't sing.  Sunday she did everything she was supposed to and we were so proud of her!!!  They have been practicing a lot these past few months and it turned out wonderful.  We can't wait for the fall when Turner will be able to join the choir as well!  I don't think he is going to have a problem being in stage:)

Turner Unattended.....

This is what happens when Turner gets quiet and is left in a room by himself.....

Our Week with Olivia!

I am keeping Kim's daughter for 2 weeks to help them out and earn a little extra money.  Last week went pretty well and the kids had a good time.  I just thought I would share some pictures.  We went to several parks, Pump It Up, flower shopping, enjoyed snocones everyday, and went swimming.  Olivia is a year older than Maddie, so it was fun to have a playmate for the week!  Just wanted to share some pics I took from my phone.  This week we plan on painting, going to parks, storytime at the Library, and attending Maddie's preschool graduation!!!!

Boo Boo's Helper!

I have been meaning to post these forever!!  Turner has turned into Boo Boo's little sidekick.  He loves going over there with his tool box and helping Boo Boo work in the yard and fix things.  He is getting so big!

Mother's Day 2012!!

We had a great Mother's Day weekend!!  Saturday Nonna and Brittany came down to see Maddie play tball and we went to dinner at Genghis Grill that night with my parent, sister and David.  We usually don't see Nonna on Mother's Day so it was nice to be able to give her her gifts and spend some time with them.
Sunday I woke up to flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, and a gift card for a spa day at Gould's!  The kids had made me cards and we headed to church.  Afterwards we headed to Mimi and Boo Boo's for steaks, fried potatoes, and lots of other goodies.  It was a nice afternoon spent at home with family instead of trying to beat the crowds at a restaurant.

Kevin and I are so blessed to have Maddie and Turner and I am honored to be their mommy!!  We are also blessed to have great mom's of our own who have been such good examples to us over the years.  It was a great day!

Muffins with Mom!!

Wednesday, all the mom's and grandma's were invited to Maddie's class to have muffins.  Mimi joined me and I loved being able to watch Maddie in her class for a little bit.  When we first got there, she put her bookbag and lunchbox up, and put her folder in her cubbie.  She then went and signed in and found her seat.  She had made me a card for Mother's Day and decorated a candle votive holder to give me.  I LOVE the handmade gifts from the kids and Maddie was so proud.  We had some juice and muffins and took a few pictures.  It was a great way to start the morning and Mrs. Pat said the kids were wild all day after we left:)  A change in routine can do that I guess!

Can We Swim, Can We Swim????

Swimming is Maddie's favorite thing to do ever!!!!  Since Kevin took the cover off a few weeks ago, she has asked no less than 10 times a day.  I am not ready to be swimming yet.  The water is too cold and I know once we start, the begging to go will get even worse.  Well, last Saturday after the Zoo, their DADDY decided it was ok for them to go.  We had been outside in the heat all day long, and fortunately the water wasn't too cold.

Maddie jumped right in and had a blast.  We put Turner's floaties on him and slowly put him in the water.  He stayed in for a few seconds and started crying that he wanted out.  So, he didn't go swimming but I know he will enjoy it after a few tries.  Hoping to have him swimming by the end of the summer!!!

Sure enough, Maddie has asked every day, multiple times, when she can go again!!  It has been in the upper 70's, very low 80's all week and getting cool at night.  Child, we are NOT swimming today:)

Zoo Trips!!

We have been to the zoo twice this week!!  (And are going back on Tuesday:)  We really do love going and we try to split it up each time we go.  Monday I took the kids with Maddie's Preschool.  That morning just Maddie, Turner, and I walked around.  We then met up with several friends at the Sea Lion show (Turner's absolute favorite part!!) and headed to eat lunch at a pavilion with the whole class.  It was a great day and I am so glad Turner joined us for the fun.  Last year Daddy and Maddie had a daddy/daughter day.
Today we went back to celebrate Bailey's 5th Birthday!!  It was our first zoo party and Ashley did a great job.  The kids went on a scavenger hunt, watched the sea lion show, and had a cookie cake for dessert.  It was a fun, HOT afternoon.  So hot that we let the kids go swimming once we got home!!!  More on that to come:)
