Today was Meg's Birthday and we all went to lunch at Abuelo's after church. Megan received lots of Kirkland gift cards, and new decor to go in their house. They are so excited about their first house-those gift cards lasted about 20 minutes I think:) Maddie was so excited about Meg's birthday and kept asking if we were going where her party was. I don't think she realized we were just going to go sit down and eat lunch-she was ready to decorate cupcakes and play games! Megan and our "mom" (Boo Boo's mother) share a birthday, so this was Meg's first birthday by herself. While we were sad, we know that she is feeling a million times better off this year than she was last year at this time! I wanted to post some pics of lunch and tell Megs that we love her and hope that she had a great day!!
Kevin and I met in 1998 at UTM and married in June of 2004. We have three children, Maddie-6, and Turner-4, and baby Harper. Kevin is a teacher and football coach at Bolton High School. I have been able to stay at home with the kiddos for almost two years now and love every minute of it. !!! We attend Ellendale Baptist Church and am so thankful to all of our wonderful family and friends. This is my fourth year to blog and I love recording all our memories!!

Project for Megs
We did some running around Saturday and went to Target to buy Megs a birthday present. We always walk down the craft aisles and Maddie found magnets that you can paint. It came in a set of four and looked like it would make perfect refrigerator decorations for new homeowners:) So Saturday afternoon Maddie got to painting and picked one out to give to Megs. They turned out cute and I am sure Megs and Davids will be receiving lots of homemade art once they get settled in!!
Fun Friday!!
I had another great Friday at home with the kids! We got a lot accomplished and it was a very fun day. We started out by visiting Bartlett Baptist's Preschool program for Maddie. I was very impressed and am hoping that she will go there in the fall 2 days a week. We were able to see the classroom, the playground, and speak with the Director of the program. It is a peanut free school, which is great for us!! They do bible lessons everyday, will work on their writing, have computer time, lots of arts and crafts, and of course play time. Mimi went with us and I think she liked it as well. We will be making a decision hopefully within the week.
After that we were going to eat lunch at Stevie B's and let Maddie play some of the games. It wasn't quite 11 so we decided to have Turner's hair cut!! This was his first "official" haircut, since the other one was done by daddy. He did great. He got a little fidgety, but mostly just sat in my lap and let Mrs. Roe cut his hair. Daddy says he has the "Dumb and Dumber" haircut, but I think it is precious and he looks like a big boy! After that we went to lunch and Meg's met us there. Everyone enjoyed their pizza and Maddie was able to play a few games. I just love having these days with the kids and am so thankful to be able to stay at home on Fridays with them! We all had fun and after lunch went home and everyone rested until daddy came home!
Ouchies!!
Both kids had "boo boo's" this week. Maddie has been scratching like crazy for almost two weeks now. She has had several pimple looking bumps show up on her belly, the backs of her legs, ankles, and a few other random spots. We kept waiting for them to go away, were giving her benadryl at night to help her sleep, and still they were there. So, Thursday we decided to take her to the doctor. Diagnosis-Folliculits?!?!?!? Never heard of it, but Maddie has it. It is kind of funny because just the day before Kim and I were discussing about how hairy Maddie is. Poor thing has dark hair on her back, arms, are already very hairy legs. So I guess she is a perfect candidate for folliculitis, which is an infection of the hair follicles. So....we were given an antibiotic to take for 10 days and after only 2 we can already tell a difference. So that is what she has dealt with this week.
Turner on the other hand is dealing with a self-inflicted wound, and one that I should have prevented. Our pantry isn't in a closet, it is just a tall cabinet that opens and closes like the rest of the ones in the kitchen. Turner is constantly opening it, pulling everything out, and either putting it back up or bringing it to us. Well yesterday morning, he decided to grab a can of tomato soup and on his way to show me, dropped it on his big toe!!! That would hurt me, so I knew he was in pain which explained why 20 minutes later...he was still crying:( I took some pictures but you can't really tell how swollen and purple it became. His fat feet are precious though so I am going to post them anyway. No pictures of Maddie's folliculitis, sorry. Hopefully next week we will stay boo boo free!

Just a Little Update...
I can not believe it-I have gone a solid week and not taken a SINGLE picture. I hate that my camera has been hanging out by the computer missing all the fun we have had in the past week! We had a playdate with the Gaines on Thursday and the Holley's on Friday. The kids had a ball and I wish I gotten some pictures. We spent a relaxing weekend in Savannah and I hated that I left my camera at home!! My sister and David bought their very own home and we were able to go in it today. Maddie picked out her and Turner's room and we can't wait for everyone to get moved in:) All kidding aside, I am diligent about taking the kids pictures and hate that I missed a solid week-they change every day and I don't want to forget a second of it!
Last week Turner started coughing and had the runny nose so we took him to the doctor before going out of town. Sure enough, he was an ear infection waiting to happen so we were give an antibiotic and all is well now. Another one of his top teeth broke through, so now he has 4 and is still eating everything. We have pretty much gotten rid of the bottle, with the exception of one at bedtime, and he is drinking whole milk. That transition has been so much easier with him than it was with Maddie. He is sleeping so much better at night and occasionally we get a full night's rest:) I am now battling a cold for the first time this season and feel like I did with most of my pregnancy with Turner (minus the pregnancy part).
Maddie is still her silly self and our little helper. Tonight she spent 30 minutes folding towels for us and has it down pat. Mimi and I are going to take the kids to visit preschools on Friday and I am anxious to see how it goes. Maddie is so smart and I think she is more than ready to start big school 2 days a week. Please pray for clarity for us as we try to figure out schedules, finances, and which school would be best for her. I can't believe it is already this time...time has gone by too fast!
Well, that pretty much brings us up to date. Sorry for all the rambling, I am just trying to keep up with everything. I will post again after tomorrow's play date with Treybug! Maddie and Trey play so well together and I love visiting with him and his mommy:)

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I must say I need to brag on my husband a little bit. It seems as he is getting older, he is becoming more and more thoughtful. I am afraid I am becoming less and less:( I hate to say that I gave Kevin a card this morning and nothing else. With Turner's birthday so close to Valentine's Day, I had been all consumed in planning his party and not paid much attentiong to today. Kevin gave me a card that he had made himself and had written a poem in it!!! It was so sweet and obvious that he had put a lot of thought into it. He also gave me a rose, a pair of pj's, socks, and some chocolate. It was a wonderful happy to start of the day. He had also bought a toy for each of the kids himself. Maddie got a new game-Gator Golf and Turner received a little basketball goal. Maddie loves her game and if Turner will sit still long enough, I think he will enjoy his too:)
We went to church and afterwards my parents had little happy's for the kids as well. Turner got a new book and Maddie got a purse with a poodle in it. They gave us $25 as well, which bought our lunch at Stevie B's. We went with Megs and David and had a good time. Kevin and I got engaged 8 years ago today, and I do believe it was the best decision he ever made:) We have been very blessed and I am so proud to call him my husband!
Maddie can draw!
I am so proud of Maddie and was shocked at what I saw this morning. She loves to color-can spend hours in her room doing so and is perfectly content. She can write the letter M, and can draw a sun and flower pretty well. This morning as we were getting ready for church Maddie was playing with her doodle pro. She had drawn a picture of herself and did a GREAT job!!! I was amazed when I saw it and thought that surely Kevin had drawn some of it. He hadn't and was just as impressed as I was. I took a picture so everyone could see Maddie's self-portrait. We might just have an artist on our hands!
Happy 4th Birthday Madison!
Saturday Maddie had princess themed birthday party to attend. Her good friend Madison turned 4 years old! It such such a cute party and the girls had a lot of fun. Bethany had the girls put on a princess costume as soon as they arrived, and Turner received a king's crown-which he had no interest in wearing:) They played Pin the Crown on the princess and there was a pinata which contained a LOT of candy that everyone was able to take some home. The cake was a castle, which Bethany made herself and we were very impressed! She did a great job and it was delicious. Madison received lots of neat gifts and we enjoyed being able to spend the afternoon with the Holley's and their family!

1st Year Pics
We love getting the kids pictures made at Portrait Innovations. Maddie has a picture from every birthday by a block with the number of how old she is. I wanted to do the same for Turner and had some taken of the kids together as well. We went Friday afternoon and that morning Turner ran into the door of our entertainment center and cut his eye. We debated rescheduling the pictures but decided to go ahead and go. Turner is not quite the camera ham that Maddie is. We tried everything to get that boy to smile and it just wasn't working. Out of 60 pictures, I think he is somewhat smiling in one of them!! He is still a cutie though and I had a hard time deciding which ones to get. After pictures we took the kids to eat at Blue Coast Burrito. It is similar to Mo's Southwest Grill which is Maddie's favorite restaurant. We had a good dinner, stopped by my parents house to show them the pictures, and then headed home. It was a good Friday!!

Turner's 1st Year Stats!!
Wow-it has been a hectic week! I don't have any new pics but I did want to post about Turner's 1 year check up. He is a growing boy!! He is 21 lbs 6 ozs (25-50%), 30 inches tall (75%) and his head measures 46 1/2 (50%). Nurse Denise said he was tall and skinny-I about fell out of my chair. I have never thought of Turner as skinny!!!! He is right on schedule as far as his growth and development and had to have 5 shots today AND his finger pricked!! He was not a happy camper for about 5 minutes, but has been fine ever since. We are so proud of our boy!! Here are just a few things he is doing and enjoys these days-
-He loves to give kisses! It will melt your heart when he gives you one. Sometimes his mouth is closed, and sometimes it is wide open and we are afraid he is going to attack us!
-Just recently he has started enjoying being read to. It is so nice because it is about the only 5 minutes out of the day he will sit still and cuddle in your lap.
-He has been walking for about 3 weeks and is getting close to running.
-He says momma, daddy, bubba, ney ney (Jene), and bye bye real clear. I don't know what he is going to call Maddie yet, but we are working with him.
-He loves to eat and there isn't much he doesn't like!
-He still loves his paci but is really just using it at naptime and bedtime.
-He is a big clapper.
-At bedtime he will put himself to sleep. We just lay him in his bed between 7 and 8. It is so nice and I wish that is all we had to do with Maddie:)
I can't believe he is already a year old and we are loving every day with him and Maddie Mo. We are getting his 1 year pictures made Friday and I will be sure to post some!

Turner's 1st Birthday Party!!!
What a fun day!!!! We had Turner's 1st birthday celebration at Mimi and Boo Boo's Ranch this past Saturday and everyone had a blast!! We had a cowboy style get together and Turner loved it all. He enjoyed opening his gifts, seeing everyone, and he really really loved his cake! I mean really loved it-loved it so much I never thought he was going to stop eating. He had it all over the place. I will be posting a BUNCH of pictures of this party because I want to remember it all.
I always stress about the kids parties, wanting everything to be perfect and everyone to have fun. Mimi thought it was funny that I was so stressed about everything when we were having it at THEIR house:) I would have had a meltdown if it had been at ours. We had cowboy hats, balloons, the rocking horse out, and plenty to eat. I had a cowboy cake made with cowboy hat and boot cookies to go around it. For the treat bags, we did cowboy/farm books, Toy Story stickers, a horse sticker sheet, noisemaker, and everyone took a cowboy hat home. To snack on we enjoyed BBQ, chips and rotel dip, apples with caramel dip and pigs in a blanket. My favorite part was the kids t-shirts. I bought some cowboy hat fabric and their sweet Ney Ney made them t-shirts to wear at the party, which I think turned out precious.
Turner received lots of great gifts and had a great time at his 1st birthday party!!! We love everyone who came and are so glad to have you all in our lives!! A specials thanks to Mimi, Boo Boo, and Megs for all their help in the planning and letting us use y'alls ranch:)) We also are so glad that Nonna, Brayden, Aunt Marci, and Brittany drove all the way from Savannah to help celebrate!
Tomorrow is his actual birthday and I will post again with where we are on his milestones and just some Turnerisms (how is that for a word Mimi?) Hope you enjoy the pics!

Maddie has Strep Throat:(
I am at home today with Mo who we thought was getting sick on Sunday. Sure enough she had 102 fever yesterday morning and Kevin took her to the doctor. I am so glad schools were cancelled so that he was able to be home with her without either of us having to miss work. She has strep and will be on an antibiotic for 10 days! We are praying that Turner doesn't get it and she will be well by Saturday to enjoy Turner's 1st birthday party!!! She isn't eating much or really wanting to play-poor baby! I took a picture of her last night that I wanted to share. She was still smiling but is so pale and you can tell she doesn't fell well. Glad we took her in and caught it early!!
Turner is too Entertaining!!!
Kevin did not want me to post this-I think guys can be so silly about their boys, but last night Turner cracked us up and I just wanted to share. He was in kitchen playing with daddy's tennis shoes. Next thing we know, he is walking across the den with one in his hand. He preceded to remove Maddie's baby doll from her stroller and put the tennis shoe in it. He then paraded all over the den with it. It was absolutely precious and there is nothing wrong with Turner wanting to stroll around his daddy's shoes:)
