We decided to squeeze one more quick trip to Savannah in before school started back. We left at 8:30 Thursday night and stayed till Saturday after lunch. We were able to go to Sophia's birthday party, visit with Big Da for a minute, and see all the grandparents except Dee Dee. She is in the hospital in Nashville and we are hoping she gets to come home on Wednesday. This has been a rough year for the grandparents I tell you....but we are so thankful to have all 4 of them still with us. Amazing really!
Nonna was able to spend a lot of time at home and the kids got lots of playing time in with the cousins. Harper has been wearing panties a lot lately. She is kind of potty training herself and does great about pee peeing in the potty. Pooping....that's a different story. So Nonna let her pick out a toy and we put it in the bathroom as a reward for pooping in the potty. Well, we brought the toy home with us and it is hanging out in our bathroom. After pooping in her panties yesterday, we are back to wearing diapers. Chemo isn't meant to be taken while trying to potty train. So.......we will let her try again another day;)
It was a quick trip, but a good one. The ride home was a different story. I got all kinds of sick and remained that way the rest of the night. I do believe a healthy diet is key in how I feel during all of this. I didn't eat that great and drank 3 cokes which is more than I have had in a month. The days I load up on fruits, veggies, and water are definitely my better days.
Thankful for our Savannah family, even though Maddie stoops into a depression every time we leave;) Ha!
Kevin and I met in 1998 at UTM and married in June of 2004. We have three children, Maddie-6, and Turner-4, and baby Harper. Kevin is a teacher and football coach at Bolton High School. I have been able to stay at home with the kiddos for almost two years now and love every minute of it. !!! We attend Ellendale Baptist Church and am so thankful to all of our wonderful family and friends. This is my fourth year to blog and I love recording all our memories!!
